Journal of Contemporary Urban Affairs’ annual editorial members' meeting has been held on 17 May 2022. In this meeting strategies on how to advance the internal quality and external visibility of the journal have been discussed. The DOAJ Seal is awarded to journals that demonstrate best practices in open access publishing. Around 10% of journals indexed in DOAJ have been awarded the Seal.

The quality checking process and their recommendation to increase the transparency of our journal regarding publication ethics took two years. Established in 1997, the Committee on Publication Ethics (http://publicationethics.org) is a UK-based non-profit organization that provides a forum for editors and publishers of peer-reviewed journals to discuss publication ethics. During the publishing process, corrections, updates and errata, as well as retractions and withdrawals, are something that readers encounter. JCUA have banded together with CrossRef to create the CrossMark identification service. If the one they have opened is not the most up-to-date, the logo will help them to navigate to the most recent version available.

It means that Authors will retain copyright of the published papers and grant to the publisher the non-exclusive right to publish the article, to be cited as its original publisher in case of reuse, and to distribute it in all forms and media.
